Sarah's Journey of Faith: From Distance to Belonging
My name is Sarah, named after the woman in Scripture who never lost faith through long years of waiting. Yet for the longest time, I felt lost in my own faith.
As a Catholic, my faith always felt like a "Sunday thing." Go to church, pray, then return to secular life. I longed for a deeper connection, a way for faith to permeate not just Sundays, but every ordinary moment from Monday through Saturday.
The turning point came at an unexpected moment.
It was an ordinary workday. I was wearing a cheap cross necklace from a church gift shop. During a difficult meeting, I unconsciously clutched it. In that instant, a strange peace washed over me. Not because of the necklace itself, but because the act of touching a faith symbol reminded me: even in a conference room, God was with me.
That moment, I understood: Faith needs "touchpoints." Not for superstition, but for reminders.
I began intentionally adding these touchpoints to my life. A saint medal necklace worn each morning, reminding me whose day it is.
